We are delighted to announce that B&C now offer a green roof option for bus shelters. This option is available on new bus shelter orders and can also be retro fitted to some existing bus shelters.
The product will be a folded aluminium tray containing a 3 layer sedum blanket system. The first layer is a Rigid Drainage Board with Filter Fleece. The rigid drainage board allows for excess water to drain away, while keeping enough to feed the vegetation above. The Second substrate layer is a blended mix of free-draining organic material with clean, screened granular aggregates, recycled from certifiable waste products from the building industry, to provide a low nutrient water-retentive growing medium. It is made from 70% recycled materials in compliance with the Soil Association standards and certifications along with the UK Green Roof Code of Best Practice. The third layer is the sedum blanket they are lightweight, low maintenance, containing between 8 - 12 species which are specifically chosen for roof applications. The blend of sedums is a shade-loving, sun-loving and drought-tolerant species.
